This friendly guest house offers comfortable budget bed and breakfast accommodation at budget rates in a good location, within easy reach of Heathrow Airport London, Uxbridge and Slough.
Oakwood Guest House is a good inexpensive place to stay when flying from Heathrow Airport, but has the added advantage of not being on any flight paths. The convenient location, great transport links and proximity to the area’s major roads, make it a good base for exploring the surrounding region. The M4, M25 and M40 motorways are all close by and there is an excellent local bus service to Heathrow, Uxbridge, Stockley Park, Hayes, Hillingdon and Hounslow. The train station is just 5 minutes’ walk away, with a regular service to London Paddington, Slough, Reading and Oxford.
Low-cost airport and holiday parking is available by special prior arrangement and a generous freshly cooked full English breakfast is included in the room rates.
Oakwood Guest House is situated on the outskirts of West Drayton, and is well situated for visiting Wembley Stadium and Windsor. The guest house offers good budget accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, and while the rooms and the shower rooms are on the small side, so are the prices.
The guest house is non-smoking throughout, including all of the rooms. The building is pleasant with a number of charming touches.
International visitors are especially welcome and the management speak French, German and Spanish.

These small, modest, but comfortable rooms have dark green carpets, lime green walls, attractive flowery duvets and matching pillowcases.
Room 1 is a modest, compact double room with an adjoining shower room with washbasin and a toilet. It has dark green carpeting and flowery bed linen. It offers a view of West Drayton’s Station Road. Room 14, in the adjoining building, has recently been refurbished with cream walls and wood-beamed features. It has a fitted pink carpet and a flat-screen TV. The shower room has a modern shower, toilet, basin and opening windows.
Rooms 12, 13 and 15 have recently been refurbished with cream walls and wood-beamed features, and patterned cream bed linen. These rooms have fitted beige or pink carpets, flat-screen TVs and also one extra-long single bed for our taller guests. The shower rooms are spacious with modern showers, toilets and basins, and all have opening windows.
These compact basic single rooms each have a washbasin. The rooms feature striped wallpaper, dark green carpets and mahogany hanging cupboards. The shower room and toilet for this room are about three steps away, at the end of the corridor. Room 2 has a view of West Drayton’s Station Road, and the patio area of the Six Bells pub next door. Room 5 has a limited view of the building next door, 119 Station Road.

This weekend special offer includes accommodation for 2 guests in either a twin room, or a small double room. Most of these rooms have cream walls, wood-beamed features, and patterned cream bed linen. They have fitted beige or pink carpets and flat-screen TVs. There is also one extra-long single bed for taller guests, in the twin rooms. The shower rooms are spacious, with modern showers, toilets and basins and all have opening windows.
In the evening, customers have a choice of inexpensive, but imaginative restaurants within very easy walking distance. There are Italian, Chinese and Indian restaurants here in West Drayton, and one local pub has an excellent carvery. Take-away outlets include Burger King, and traditional English fish and chips.
By Air
The hotel is approximately 2 miles (3.5 km) from London Heathrow Airport. Taxis are readily available from just outside the airport, but these can be expensive and may not be familiar with the most direct route to the guest house. Because of this, the Oakwood Guest House recommends the taxi firm LHR Cars of West Drayton. Further details are available on request. By Bus:
The U3 bus runs to West Drayton every 12 minutes, from stand 18 at Heathrow Central bus station. Get off the U3 after passing The Green on the right and The Swan pub on the left, next to the Winchester Pharmacy, in Swan Road, West Drayton. Walk down Swan Road to the T-junction, with a Spar Supermarket to your left. Cross over and turn right into Station Road, towards Harmondsworth and Sipson. Walk past Harrolds’ Optician, then past 2 small Indian restaurants. Cross straight over Brandville Road and we are on your left, beyond silvery-grey shutters, just before the Six Bells Pub.
The guest house is easily accessible from Heathrow’s Terminal 5 with the number 350 local bus towards Hayes/Harlington, which you catch just outside T5. Get off the 350 bus at the (request) bus stop K - after the Fox & Pheasant pub on the right, and beyond St Martin's Vet Surgery, on the left - by the tiny West Drayton Library. Cross over Station Road and turn left. Walk past Bow Wows Dog Salon, a black Texaco garage and the Six Bells pub, and the guest house is just beyond the pub, on the left, before the silver-grey shutters.
By Train
From Paddington:
West Drayton’s train station is just 5 minutes’ walk from the guest house. Take a Thames train towards Reading, Oxford and Slough. There are 4 trains per hour mid-week and the journey time from Paddington station to West Drayton is approximately 25 minutes. From the station, turn left and left again under the railway bridge, then walk a few hundred yards past the fruit and vegetable shops, a Spar supermarket on the corner and then 2 small Indian restaurants on the left-hand side. The grey Lance Owen Vauxhall garage will be on your right. Cross straight over Brandville Road and the guest house is on the left-hand side, next to the silvery-grey shutters and just before the Six Bells pub.
If you leave the station via the back exit, walk straight ahead into Warwick Road for a short way and then bear right toward the gentlemen’s barbershop. Turn left at the corner into Station Road by the florist’s shop (Flowers by Ellisa) and opposite Threshers wine shop. You will then arrive at the Spar supermarket. From here, follow the above directions.
By Tube:
Take the blue Piccadilly Line all the way to the station for Heathrow terminals 1, 2 and 3. From Heathrow Underground station, you can either call LHR Cars of West Drayton to pick you up at the station or you can cross over to Heathrow bus station (beside the underground station) and get on a U3 bus at stand 18 to get to West Drayton.
By Car
From the M4 motorway:
- Leave the M4 motorway at junction 4, following the signs for Uxbridge A408/ Heathrow.
- Keep left at the roundabout with the traffic lights and take the 2nd exit into Cherry Lane, with the arrowhead pointing left towards West Drayton (the Crowne Plaza hotel is directly ahead of you and the Novotel is to your left).
- Drive straight down Cherry Lane, which then becomes Sipson Road.
- Go straight through 2 small sets of traffic lights after the parade of shops on the left (with the Costcutter), and carry straight on into Station Road.
- Pass the Fox & Pheasant pub on your right.
- Station Road then bends to the right and past the King's Paget, followed by St. Martin's Vets Surgery on the left and a Texaco garage on the right.
- Oakwood Guest House is on the right, just beyond the Six Bells pub.
By Car
From Uxbridge:
- Exit the M40 motorway at junction one at the Denham roundabout.
- Take the A4020 towards Uxbridge.
- At the 2nd roundabout/traffic light complex in Uxbridge (at Capital Court/ Manpower), take the A408 (to the right) towards Cowley and Yiewsley.
- Drive through Cowley and continue along the A408 suburban road for a few miles.
- Pass the Esso/ Tesco Express garage on your left and then various warehouses on your right until you reach the big traffic lights in Yiewsley (with Iceland and Aldi on your right).
- Continue through Yiewsley, passing Woolworths and HSBC on your left.
- Drive over Canal Bridge and past West Drayton station on your left, then past a Spar supermarket on the left-hand corner.
- After 2 small Indian restaurants on your left and just past Brandville Road, also on the left, you will see Oakwood Guest House on the left - beyond the silver-grey shutters, and located just before the Six Bells pub.
Parking:
- Turn right just before Chas Cameron Lettings into Brandville Road, then turn right immediately afterwards into Bellclose Road.
- Turn immediately right again into the mesh-gated car park (with the green garage doors ahead of you).
